KPop Demon Hunters trailer
Netflix's animated film "KPop Demon Hunters" has made history by becoming the first soundtrack to achieve four simultaneous top 10 positions on the Billboard Hot 100.
The film, released on 20 June, is currently Netflix's fourth most-watched movie of all time and received the highest combined critic and audience score for an original production on Rotten Tomatoes.
The soundtrack features the fictional K-pop girl group HUNTR/X, whose song "Golden" is at No 1, and the Saja Boys with "Your Idol" and "Soda Pop" at No 4 and No 5, respectively, alongside another HUNTR/X track, "How It's Done", at No 10.
HUNTR/X became the first female K-pop-associated group to top the Hot 100 and the first all-woman collective of three or more members to achieve this since Destiny’s Child in 2001.
Co-directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, the film's musical inspirations include real-life K-pop groups like BTS, Blackpink, and Twice, with themes emphasising music's ability to unite people across cultural boundaries.
