Liam Neeson gets brutally honest about character’s ‘namby-pamby’ death scene
George Lucas admits he went 'too far' with Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace
Liam Neeson has criticised his character Qui-Gon Jinn's death scene in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, describing it as "namby-pamby".
The actor said he felt the death was not fitting for a Master Jedi, despite his overall positive experience filming the 1999 blockbuster.
Neeson reprised his role as a Force Ghost in the Obi-Wan Kenobi spin-off series, an experience he found enjoyable.
He also defended his co-star Ahmed Best, who faced criticism for his portrayal of Jar Jar Binks, calling him one of the funniest and most talented people he has worked with.
Neeson previously stated he was "proud" of The Phantom Menace and enjoyed playing a Jedi.
