Ridley Scott and James Cameron both directed Alien movies (Invision)
Ridley Scott revealed he declined a $20m offer to direct Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, stating he "can't be bought" and it was not his style.
The filmmaker explained he would have tried to make the film too realistic, contrasting with the franchise's "comic strip" nature, and likened it to why he would not direct a James Bond movie.
James Cameron, who directed the first two Terminator films, stepped away from the franchise before the third instalment was made.
Scott confirmed that a third Gladiator film is currently "in process" following the box office success of Gladiator II.
He also expressed openness to directing another Alien prequel if he develops a suitable idea.
