- He considers his upcoming series, Tip Toe, a suburban thriller set in Manchester's Gay Village, to be the "strongest thing" he has ever written.
- His comments follow a significant drop in Doctor Who's ratings to 2.1 million viewers earlier this year and the unexpected departure of lead star Ncuti Gatwa.
- Billie Piper, who previously played Rose Tyler, made a surprise return in the show's finale, where Gatwa's Time Lord transformed into her character.
