  • Adam Scott, known for 'Severance', revealed that losing the role of David Fisher in HBO's 'Six Feet Under' was a particularly "painful" career rejection.
  • The part ultimately went to Michael C. Hall, who Scott acknowledged was perfectly cast for the role.
  • Scott admitted that the rejection was so devastating it made him consider quitting acting, as 'Six Feet Under' was a highly acclaimed show at the time.
  • Despite not securing the main role, Scott later made a guest appearance in the show's second season as Hall's onscreen boyfriend, Ben Cooper.
  • Scott went on to achieve significant success, notably as Ben Wyatt in 'Parks and Recreation' and currently as the lead in the critically acclaimed Apple TV+ series 'Severance', for which he has received Emmy nominations.
