The new categories that will debut at the 2026 Grammy Awards

  • The decision coincidentally follows Sabrina Carpenter's unveiling of her new album cover, "Man’s Best Friend", which sparked debate on social media.
  • Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, stated the changes reflect the academy's commitment to representing the music community and recognising deserving creators.
  • Other Grammy changes include a new best traditional country album category.
  • The Grammys will be held on February 1 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with nominations announced on November 7.
