The Simpsons confirms fate of long-standing character
Mr Largo is the longtime Springfield Elementary music teacher in 'The Simpsons' (Fox)
The Simpsons producers have clarified that long-serving music teacher Mr. Largo was not killed off in the debut episode of the show's 37th season.
A line in the episode 'Thrifty Ways to Thieve Your Mother' suggested Mr. Largo had died, prompting speculation among fans.
Co-executive producer Jessica Conrad, who wrote the line, stated it was intended as a joke and not a serious plot development.
Cesar Mazariegos, another co-executive producer, explained that the show rarely removes characters permanently, unlike the deliberate death of Larry the Barfly last year.
Producers highlighted that The Simpsons operates in a 'cartoony world' where character demises are often not final.
