The changes Ticketmaster will make following government criticism

Cabinet minister Lucy Powell got her Oasis tickets 'after hours of waiting' via Ticketmaster
  • Ticketmaster has committed to enhancing transparency for concertgoers regarding ticket pricing and availability, following an investigation by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
  • The CMA probe stemmed from issues identified during Oasis ticket sales in 2024, where fans were not informed about different price points for standing tickets or subsequent price increases.
  • Under the new commitments, Ticketmaster will display the full range of ticket prices, provide updates as cheaper seats sell out, and notify buyers 24 hours in advance if tiered pricing is to be used.
  • The company must also accurately describe tickets, avoiding misleading labels that imply additional benefits where none exist, and will report on its compliance for the next two years.
  • Ticketmaster welcomed the CMA's confirmation that no dynamic pricing or unfair practices were found, stating its voluntary commitment aims to further improve customer communication.
