  • Malle, 39, is the daughter of actor Candice Bergen and film director Louis Malle, and was previously an editor at the publication.
  • She is expected to begin her new role before New York Fashion Week, which runs from 11 to 16 September.
  • The appointment follows Anna Wintour's decision in June to step down as Vogue's editor-in-chief after 37 years.
  • Wintour will continue in her roles as Condé Nast’s global chief content officer and Vogue’s global editorial director.
