The M25 has been named the UK's worst motorway in a new AA study, with drivers citing aggressive driving, speeding, and poor road surfaces.
The M6 and M1 ranked second and third worst, respectively, with drivers mentioning dangerous conditions, frequent hold-ups, and lack of hard shoulders.
Nine of the top 10 worst motorways have sections converted into "smart" motorways, a feature many drivers find concerning and ineffective.
Congestion and poor road surfaces were also highlighted as major issues on UKmotorways.
The AA suggests that the conversion to smart motorways has not provided the intended benefits and may have contributed to increased congestion.
