Revealed: The hotels that give guests the least time in their rooms
Some hotels are charging hefty fees for early check-in or late check-out
A Which? study reveals that some UK hotel chains, including Macdonald Hotels and Resorts, offer guests as little as 17 hours in their rooms, with check-in as late as 5pm and check-out at 10am.
Macdonald Hotels says that the 5pm check-in applies only to their self-catering apartments, which require more extensive cleaning.
Which? found that hotels like Sofitel Heathrow charge hefty fees for early or late check-in/check-out.
Some hotels are also selling rooms twice within a 24-hour period, maximising occupancy but potentially impacting guest experience.
Which? advises travellers to inquire about early check-in upon arrival, utilise loyalty programs, and consider using hotel facilities before their official check-in.
