McDonald’s brings much-loved game back to the US
- McDonald's is bringing back its popular Monopoly game from 6 October for a limited period, featuring both digital and physical game pieces.
- Players can collect digital property pieces via the McDonald's app for select orders, or scan QR codes from physical stickers found on certain menu items.
- Prizes include 1 million American Airlines miles, a new Jeep Grand Cherokee, and a $1 million cash prize, with a bonus game available on the app until 2 November.
- The game's return follows a 2001 scandal where a police officer, Jerome P. Jacobson, was convicted for stealing over $24 million in prizes by rigging the game.
- This announcement comes after McDonald's recently launched a special edition Gold Sauce and accompanying menu items, as well as bringing back its Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin & Creme Pie.
