  • Viva Raw, LLC has issued a voluntary recall for two lots of its dog and cat food products due to potential contamination.
  • The recall affects Viva Ground Beef for Dogs, Viva Beef & Turkey for Puppies (Lot 21495), and four other products under Lot 21975, including various chicken-based foods for dogs and cats.
  • The products, distributed nationwide and in seven US states between July and August 2025, were found to be potentially contaminated with Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes during routine testing.
  • While no illnesses in pets or humans have been reported so far, the FDA advises pet owners to dispose of the recalled food and contact Viva Raw for a refund.
  • Both Salmonella and Listeria can cause serious health issues in humans and animals, with Listeria being a significant cause of foodborne illness deaths in the United States.
