The stunning views you can enjoy on new 100-mile walking route

A walking expert says you don’t need to walk 10,000 steps a day for most health benefits – here’s why
  • A new 100-mile circular walking route, the South Hams Way, is set to open in south Devon later this month.
  • Starting in Totnes, the 101-mile path traverses Devon's coast, valleys, and moorlands, including 50 miles of the South West Coast Path and parts of Dartmoor National Park.
  • Created by South Hams Ramblers, the signposted route is divided into 10 sections, offering access to public transport, shops, refreshments, and accommodation.
  • Walkers on the South Hams Way can expect diverse scenery, including valleys, hills, forests, moorland, rivers, and five estuaries.
  • An official launch ceremony on 14 September will take place in Borough Park, Totnes.
