Rover's 2025 Most Popular Dog and Cat Breeds Report, based on data from 1,000 pet owners, has revealed the top dog breeds across the US.
Non-designer mixed breeds, commonly known as mutts, have been identified as the most popular canine companions nationwide.
Following the non-designer dogs, the Labrador Retriever is the most popular, followed by the Golden Retriever in third place, which has overtaken the Goldendoodle.
The Miniature Poodle maintained its status as the top trending dog breed for 2025, whilst the Pit Bull was voted most photogenic and likely to trend on social media.
New analysis by Forbes Advisor also found that essential dog expenses currently cost an average of $1,533 annually.
