The annual cost of owning a dog in the US revealed
- Rover's 2025 Most Popular Dog and Cat Breeds Report, based on data from 1,000 pet owners, has revealed the top dog breeds across the US.
- Non-designer mixed breeds, commonly known as mutts, have been identified as the most popular canine companions nationwide.
- Following the non-designer dogs, the Labrador Retriever is the most popular, followed by the Golden Retriever in third place, which has overtaken the Goldendoodle.
- The Miniature Poodle maintained its status as the top trending dog breed for 2025, whilst the Pit Bull was voted most photogenic and likely to trend on social media.
- New analysis by Forbes Advisor also found that essential dog expenses currently cost an average of $1,533 annually.
