Over 100 unmarked containers with unknown contents were discovered scattered along the coastline of Montague Island in Alaska.
The discovery, ranging from five-gallon to 55-gallon drums, was first reported by Gulf of Alaska Keepers to the U.S. Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard has successfully recovered all the containers from the southern coastline of Montague Island.
Multiple agencies, including NOAA and the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, are now involved in an investigation to determine the contents and origin of the drums.
Officials have not yet released information regarding potential hazards associated with the containers.
