Thousands gather for national Day of Reflection at Bondi
Australia to strengthen anti-hate speech laws following Bondi attack
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was booed at a ceremony for the victims of the Bondi Beach shooting in Sydney.
The event on Sunday coincided with a national Day of Reflection for the 15 people killed by two gunmen at a Hanukkah celebration the previous week.
Mr Albanese has ordered a review of federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies, citing the "Isis-inspired atrocity" and the need to ensure national security.
Jewish community leaders expressed anger and a feeling of being "let down" by government failures to address rising antisemitism in Australia.
Alleged gunman Naveed Akram has been charged with 15 counts of murder and 40 counts of causing harm with intent to murder, while his father was shot dead at the scene.
