Eating breakfast later could be linked to underlying health issues
Start Your Day Strong: The Benefits Of A Hearty Breakfast
Research indicates that older adults who consume breakfast later in the day may face a higher risk of earlier mortality.
A study involving nearly 3,000 UK adults found that each hour breakfast was delayed was associated with a 10 percent higher risk of death.
The findings highlight an association rather than direct causation, suggesting that later breakfast times could signal underlying health issues or lifestyle patterns.
Delayed breakfast was also linked to various physical and psychological conditions, including fatigue, oral health problems, depression, and anxiety.
Dr Hassan Dashti, who led the research, proposed that the timing of meals could serve as an early indicator of an individual's overall health status.
