  • Police were called around 1pm on Tuesday after reports the man got into difficulty in the water.
  • Bystanders performed CPR before emergency services transported him to Mgarr Harbour, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Victoria General Hospital.
  • A local magistrate has been informed, and an inquiry into the incident has been launched by the police.
  • This incident marks the second drowning in Comino this year, with 12 deaths in Malta overall, with authorities previously warning about strong currents in the busy area.
