Burning Man festival hit by severe weather conditions
Powerful Dust Storm Hits Burning Man Festival in Nevada
The Orgy Dome at the Burning Manfestival in Nevada was destroyed by high winds during a severe dust storm on Sunday.
Organizers confirmed the structure, a large tent filled with mattresses and pillows, was wrecked, though staff were safe.
The storm, with winds up to 50mph, caused widespread chaos, damaging temporary installations and leading to at least four minor injuries.
Despite the destruction, organizers appealed for equipment to rebuild the dome and issued further weather warnings, including for an approaching thunderstorm and heavy rainfall.
The festival, which has seen attendance in the 70,000s, has faced significant weather disruption for the third time in four years.
