Watch: Pope Leo declares Carlo Acutis the first millennial saint

Pope Leo declares teen Carlo Acutis first millennial saint
  • Carlo Acutis, a London-born computer prodigy who died in 2006, has been canonised as the first millennial Catholic saint.
  • The ceremony took place on Sunday at St Peter’s Square, led by Pope Leo XIV, with Carlo’s family in attendance.
  • Dubbed “God’s influencer”, Carlo died aged 15 from leukaemia; before his death, he set up a website to document Catholic miracles and faith online.
  • He was canonised alongside Pier Giorgio Frassati, with Leo said both saints created “masterpieces” through their devotion to God.
