Tyler Robinson’s grandmother says shooting suspect is ‘very shy, good kid’
Bullet casing 'engravings' revealed as Tyler Robinson is identified as Charlie Kirk suspect
Tyler Robinson, 22, has been accused of fatally shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem.
Robinson's grandmother, Debbie Robinson, has publicly defended him in an interview with the Daily Mail, claiming he is a “very shy, good kid” and there is “no way he could be violent.”
She has “never” heard him discuss politics, she said, despite his father’s support of President Donald Trump.
Her grandson does not own a gun or enjoy hunting, she said, and she does not think he could have been “that good of a shot” to hit Kirk from more than 100 meters away.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox said that Robinson had previously expressed a strong dislike for Kirk and his views to a family member, and he had become “more political” in recent months.
