  • Around 120,000 Citroen and DS vehicle owners in Europe, including the UK, have been issued “do not drive” orders by parent company Stellantis due to a fault with their airbag systems.
  • The recall affects specific models manufactured between 2009 and 2019, which are equipped with airbags made by the now-bankrupt company Takata, whose inflators can deteriorate and deploy improperly.
  • The affected models are Citroën C3 manufactured between 2009 and 2016; Citroën DS 3 manufactured between 2009 and 2016; DS Automobiles DS 3 manufactured between 2016 and 2019
  • The sheer volume of affected vehicles has created significant backlogs at dealerships, with some garages reportedly booked until 2026.
  • Affected drivers are advised to check their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), register their vehicle, and await contact from Stellantis to arrange a repair.
