The question from an Australian journalist that annoyed Trump
Donald Trump accuses journalist of ‘hurting Australia’ for asking about his wealth
Donald Trump engaged in a heated exchange with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s Americas editor, John Lyons, on the White House lawn.
Lyons questioned Trump about his business dealings and how wealthier he had grown since returning as president, to which Trump claimed his children managed the business.
Trump accused the journalist of “hurting” Australia and stated he would complain about him to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
Trump told Lyons to “Quiet” during the exchange, and a White House social media account later shared a video labelling Lyons a “rude foreign Fake News loser”.
Lyons described Trump as being in a “pretty feisty mood” and suggested the incident revealed much about Trump's contentious relationship with the media.
