Trump claims he could serve a third term as US president

US President Donald Trump has hinted at the possibility of seeking a third term in office, despite the two-term limit laid out in the 22nd Amendment.
He suggested there were several methods for achieving this, including potentially running as vice president and then assuming the presidency.
Mr Trump acknowledged the constitutional challenges but emphasised his popularity and the calls from supporters for another term, saying: “I’m not joking.”
He also falsely claimed that the 2020 election was rigged, implying his current term is actually his third.
Amending the Constitution to remove the two-term limit would require significant support from Congress and the states, making it a difficult path.
