He specifically referenced the two-day strike on 3 and 4 June, which led to dozens of easyJet flights being cancelled across various European routes.
The strikes resulted in nearly 3,000 flight cancellations and over 7,400 delays across Europe, with Eurocontrol estimating the cost to the aviation industry at €120m.
easyJet's CEO is adding pressure to other carriers, such as Ryanair, for the European Union to address the chaos caused by national air-traffic control strikes affecting “overflights”.
Despite these challenges, easyJet reported a £50m increase in headline profit for the April-June quarter, with strong demand leading to 92 per cent of seats being filled in June.
