A Royal Navy F-35B Lightning jet, valued at £80m, has been stranded at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in southern India for over 10 days.
The stealth fighter, operating from HMS Prince of Wales, made an emergency landing on June 14 due to bad weather and a technical issue encountered off the coast of Kerala.
The Royal Navy reportedly declined an offer to move the jet to a hangar, citing concerns about protecting its advanced technologies.
The Indian Air Force confirmed the emergency landing and is providing support, with the Central Industrial Security Force guarding the aircraft round the clock.
A specialist team from the UK is required to repair the aircraft, as it cannot take off without their assistance.
