Children face ‘mass shooting drills’ if Farage becomes PM, Lib Dem leader says
Nigel Farage will roll back UK gun laws, Ed Davey claims
Sir Ed Davey, the Liberal Democrat leader, claimed that if Nigel Farage became Prime Minister, British children would face mass shooting drills due to rolled-back gun laws.
Speaking at the Lib Dem conference in Bournemouth, Sir Ed warned that a Farage government would lead to a country without the NHS, increased fossil fuel reliance, and social media barons poisoning young minds.
He accused Farage of aligning with figures like Elon Musk, Vladimir Putin, and Donald Trump, contrasting this with the Liberal Democrats' stance of being on the side of the British people.
Reform UK responded by stating that looser firearm rules are not their party policy, despite Farage's past calls for relaxing gun laws, and dismissed Sir Ed's comments as "total madness".
Sir Ed positioned himself as an opponent of populism, criticising Farage and Donald Trump extensively in his speech, and concluded with a patriotic appeal for his vision of Britain.
