Florida man attacked by black bear in front yard after yelling at it
US, Los Angeles: Glendale Bear Sighting
A Florida man, Alexander Rojas, was mauled by a black bear outside his Apopka home after attempting to scare away two juvenile bears.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. on August 15 when Rojas shouted at the bears, leading one to charge and attack him.
Rojas sustained injuries to his forearm, requiring stitches and potentially suffering nerve or tendon damage, but managed to fight off the bear.
He clarified that he did not harm the bears and made a rapid decision under pressure to evade them, as captured on his Ring doorbell camera.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has since placed a trap at the property, and Rojas was treated and released from a local hospital.
