Foreign Secretary pledges eight-figure sum for Gaza amid fury at Israel
JD Vance says US has “no plans” to recognise Palestine during meeting with David Lammy
Foreign Secretary David Lammy announced an additional £15 million in medical aid for Gaza and the surrounding region.
Lammy expressed outrage at Israel's aid restrictions, stating Gaza faces a "man-made famine" and calling for a significant humanitarian response.
The new funding will support medical charities UK-Med and WHO Egypt, with plans to bring critically ill Gazan children to the UK for NHS treatment.
Lammy condemned Israel's approval of illegal settlements in the West Bank, particularly in the E1 area, warning it would impede a contiguous Palestinian state.
He also confirmed the reintroduction of sanctions on Iran due to its failure to comply with nuclear obligations and pursue diplomatic solutions.
