Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google's DeepMind and a recent Nobel laureate, highlighted "learning how to learn" as the paramount skill for future generations due to the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence.
Speaking from an ancient Roman theatre in Athens, Hassabis predicted that artificial general intelligence could arrive within a decade, potentially bringing a future of "radical abundance" despite acknowledged risks.
He emphasised the necessity of "meta-skills" and continuous learning throughout one's career to adapt to the rapid changes brought by AI.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis joined Hassabis at the event, where they discussed expanding AI use in government services.
Mitsotakis warned that the continued growth of huge tech companies and unequal distribution of AI benefits could lead to significant global financial inequality and social unrest.
