Google is set to invest £5 billion in the UK over the next two years to meet the surging demand for AI services.
The investment was announced as it opens a new data centre in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, Google's first in the UK.
This funding will cover capital expenditure, research and development, and engineering, with Google DeepMind conducting pioneering AI research in science and healthcare.
The initiative is projected to create 8,250 jobs annually at UK businesses and contribute to the growth of the UK's AI economy and technological breakthroughs.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves described Google's substantial investment as a "vote of confidence" in the UK economy.
