Tunisia denies claim of drone strike on Greta Thunberg’s Gaza flotilla
Gaza aid flotilla allegedly struck by drone in Tunisian waters
A Gaza-bound flotilla, with activist Greta Thunberg aboard, reported a suspected drone strike on one of its boats in Tunisian waters, causing fire damage to the main deck and storage.
The Global Sumud Flotilla for Gaza (GSF), comprising about 20 vessels from 44 nations, aims to break Israel's naval blockade on the embattled Gaza Strip.
Tunisian authorities denied the drone attack claims, saying their investigation found no drone activity and suggested the fire originated inside the vessel, possibly caused by a cigarette.
Ms Thunberg condemned the situation in Gaza, describing it as "genocide" and "mass starvation by Israel's murder machine".
The flotilla, which departed Barcelona on 31 August, is expected to be intercepted by Israeli forces, with reports suggesting plans to arrest Ms Thunberg and seize the ships.
