  • The haka erupted in the public gallery after Te Pāti Māori’s Oriini Kaipara delivered her maiden speech.
  • Ms Kaipara was elected in September to fill a vacant seat.
  • Members of the public gallery initiated the haka, with some Members of Parliament also joining in.
