Reservoir levels in the region are currently at 55.8 per cent capacity, which is 26.1 per cent lower than typical for this time of year, and the Environment Agency declared a drought in Yorkshire on 12 June.
The hosepipe ban means people are not allowed to use a hosepipe to water their gardens, clean their cars or fill swimming pools until further notice.
