Police confirm ‘incredibly sad’ discovery of human remains

  • Human remains, believed to be those of children, were discovered by builders working on a property in Lytham, Lancashire.
  • Fylde Police were contacted on 15 August after the discovery was made on Cleveland Road.
  • Detectives have confirmed the remains are human and believe it to be an isolated historical burial.
  • DI Andrew Crook stated that while it is an "incredibly sad discovery", police are not treating the death as suspicious.
  • Inquiries are ongoing to establish the identity, age, and cause of death of the remains, which have now been removed from the property.
