Israel issued a final warning to Hamas, demanding the release of 48 hostages and disarmament, threatening to destroy Gaza if demands are not met.
Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz, announced an escalation of airstrikes and ground operations in Gaza City, describing it as a "mighty hurricane".
Hamas is reviewing the latest US ceasefire proposal, which President Trump described as their "last chance", with a senior official calling it "preliminary ideas".
Recent military actions include Israeli bombings in Gaza City and reports of casualties, with four Israeli soldiers and at least 40 Palestinians, including a journalist, killed on Monday.
The conflict, which began with Hamas attacks in 2023, has resulted in over 64,000 Palestinian deaths and a worsening humanitarian crisis, with rising deaths from malnutrition and starvation.
