Jaguar Land Rover grapples with aftermath of cyber attack
Jaguar Land Rover production ‘severely disrupted’ by cyberattack
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has halted production at its key UK manufacturing sites, including Halewood, Solihull, and Wolverhampton, following a significant cyber attack.
Factory staff have reportedly been instructed to work from home until at least next Tuesday, with production line employees advised not to return before 9 September.
The cyber incident, which JLR revealed on Tuesday, has severely disrupted both production and sales, and is also affecting vehicle repairs and customer handovers.
A group of young hackers reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack on Telegram, sharing screenshots purporting to be from JLR's internal IT system.
JLR, owned by India's Tata Motors, shut down systems on Sunday and is working to restart operations, stating there is no evidence of customer data theft.
