LinkedIn has issued a warning to users about a significant increase in job scams, particularly those offering CV writing or improvement services.
Over a third of job scams reported on the platform globally now involve these CV services, which often provide poor quality results, use artificial intelligence, and can compromise personal information.
Scammers frequently attempt to move conversations off the LinkedIn platform and are five times more likely to be outside a job seeker's direct network.
The alert comes ahead of the typical annual September recruitment surge, a period when job seekers, especially new graduates, may be more vulnerable.
Other data corroborates this trend, with Lloyds Banking Group reporting a 237 per cent increase in 'advanced fee' job scams since the start of the year.
