King Charles will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at Sandringham following Zelensky's contentious White House meeting with Donald Trump. This is seen as a significant show of royal support for Ukraine.
The meeting comes after Trump accepted an invitation from King Charles for a second state visit to Britain, an invitation delivered by Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Starmer will host a summit with EU leaders on Sunday to address the Ukraine crisis and attempt to rebuild the shattered peace talks. Zelensky will meet with Starmer before the summit.
The King's meeting with Zelensky is considered a bold political move, potentially risking relations with Trump.
Starmer aims to strengthen support for Ukraine and encourage European allies to increase defence spending, while also seeking to mediate between Zelensky and Trump.
