- Scottish brothers Jamie, Ewan, and Lachlan Maclean have established a new world record for the fastest human-powered Pacific Ocean crossing.
- They completed their 9,000-mile journey from South America to Cairns, Australia, in 139 days, five hours, and 52 minutes, marking the first time a team has rowed this specific route.
- This achievement significantly beats the previous record of 159 days set in 2014 and builds on their earlier success as the fastest and youngest trio to row the Atlantic Ocean in 2020.
- The expedition was undertaken in their custom-built vessel, Rose Emily, with the aim of raising £1 million for clean water projects in Madagascar via The Maclean Foundation.
