  • Matthew Hall, a 33-year-old British man from Hull, has gone missing during a solo hiking trip in Italy.
  • He disappeared from Chiavenna, Lombardy, on 9 July, and was declared missing after failing to check out of his hotel on 11 July.
  • His last known contact was a photo sent to a friend from the Daloo Alps on 9 July, and his phone has since been turned off.
  • Hotel staff raised the alarm after finding his personal belongings and luggage in his room when he missed his checkout.
  • A rescue operation is currently underway, with Italian and British officials involved. the Foreign Office is supporting his family.
