Police officer among four killed in shooting at New York office building

A shooting incident at a Midtown Manhattan office building on Monday evening resulted in the deaths of a New York City Police officer and at least three other individuals.
The gunman, identified as 27-year-old Shane Tamura from Las Vegas, entered the skyscraper with an M4 assault rifle, opening fire before dying from a self-inflicted wound.
NYPD officer Didarul Islam, 36, was among those killed, along with three other people, while several others sustained injuries.
Officer Islam, a Bangladeshi immigrant, was lauded for his ultimate sacrifice, leaving behind a wife and two young children, with a third child on the way.
Authorities, including the FBI and ATF, are investigating the motive behind the attack, noting that Tamura had a documented mental health history.
