Nigel Farage admitted he misspoke about personally buying a house in Clacton, clarifying that his partner purchased the property.
Farage had previously stated he bought the house to demonstrate his commitment to the constituency.
The clarification follows Angela Rayner's resignation over stamp duty underpayment, prompting renewed scrutiny of second home tax implications.
Richard Tice, Farage's deputy, dismissed questions about his leader's tax affairs as "irrelevant" to voters.
Separately, Farage reportedly uses a private company, Thorn in the Side Ltd, to manage his media earnings, a practice he defends as legitimate for business overheads.
