Prince William suggests NHS enforces career breaks to stop burnout

Prince William has suggested that NHS staff need mandatory career breaks to combat burnout.
During a visit to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, he emphasised the need for prioritising the mental health of healthcare workers.
William drew on his own experiences as an air ambulance pilot and his work with NHS Charities Together.
He spoke with staff who shared their experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic, including the challenges of caring for patients and being separated from family.
He said unless there were “almost enforced breaks” in workers’ careers, “we’re never going to get to that point where you can look after their mental health”.
