Shock poll suggests majority of Reform voters want closer EU ties

Farage and Reform ‘whipping up anger’ on migrants, cabinet minister warns
  • A new YouGov poll reveals a significant shift in attitudes towards Brexit, with a majority of Reform UK supporters now favouring closer ties with the EU.
  • The survey found that 55 per cent of Reform UK voters, alongside 76 per cent of all respondents, support a permanent youth mobility scheme between the UK and Europe.
  • Support for the youth mobility scheme is also strong among other political affiliations, with 62 per cent of Conservative voters and 90 per cent of Labour voters backing it.
  • Furthermore, 41 per cent of Reform UK voters expressed a preference for closer trading relations with the EU, compared to 19 per cent who desire more distance.
  • Commissioned by travel associations, the poll underscores the economic importance of such schemes for the UK's outbound travel sector, which has experienced a notable decline in UK nationals working in EU tourism roles since Brexit.
