RFK Jr questioned over CDC turmoil during Senate hearing

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr faced intense scrutiny from Democratic senators during a Senate Finance Committee hearing over his public health policies and actions.
Democrats criticized Kennedy for alleged mismanagement, including the mass exodus from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the cancellation of significant vaccine development projects.
Kennedy defended his approach, asserting he is “pro-science” rather than “anti-vax,” and argued for accountability within the CDC to improve national health.
The hearing became contentious, with some Democratic senators labelling Kennedy a “charlatan” and accusing him of undermining public trust in health agencies.
Despite most Republicans supporting his nomination, several, including Senators Bill Cassidy and John Barrasso, also voiced concerns about Kennedy's impact on public health and vaccine policy.
