Robin Westman’s ex-classmate says there were ‘red flags’ in the shooter’s behavior
Police: Minneapolis killer had deranged fascination with mass shooters
A former classmate of Minneapolis school shooter Robin Westman revealed the assailant idolized Adolf Hitler and had obsessed over mass killings from middle school.
Josefina Sanchez, who attended St. Agnes Catholic School with Westman, noted “definitely red flags” in Westman's behavior, including verbal abuse and performing Nazi salutes.
Westman opened fire on a church next to Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, killing two children and wounding 18 others.
A social media account linked to Westman showed a video with a “manifesto” detailing violent fantasies and a long-time obsession with mass shootings, dating back to seventh grade.
The video also displayed a large arsenal of weapons, and authorities stated Westman fired 116 rounds during the attack.
