Russia issues new threat towards UK over Ukraine war
Russia launches overnight strike on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia
A senior Russian official has threatened to seize more Ukrainian territory and target British property.
This warning follows the UK's confirmation that it spent over £1 billion from frozen Russian assets on weapons for Ukraine.
Dmitry Medvedev stated Russia would 'return it in kind' by taking 'Ukrainian land' and property, and suggested seizing 'valuables of the British Crown' if frozen funds are illegally seized.
The Ministry of Defence confirmed the £1 billion was used to purchase artillery ammunition, air defence missiles, and support contracts for Ukraine's military.
The UK Government has frozen £25 billion worth of Russian assets since the Ukraine war began, with sanctions collectively depriving Russia of over £297 billion.
