Thousands of travellers stranded in Spain after cable theft stops trains

Cable theft in Toledo, Spain, has disrupted high-speed rail service between Madrid and Seville, causing significant delays and stranding thousands of passengers returning from their holiday weekend.
Madrid's Atocha station was overcrowded with frustrated travellers seeking information from overwhelmed rail staff.
Renfe, Spain's rail operator, advised passengers to delay their arrival at the station.
The incident follows a recent massive power outage that also impacted train travel in Spain and Portugal.
The cable theft targeted the high-speed line's signalling system at four different points.
